Quad, buggy, horse or camel to the Blue Lagoon: which tour on Djerba?
Updated October 18, 2026 · 6 min read
In short. For most people the best choice is “Djerba: 2-Hour Quad Biking Tour to the Lagoon”: 1.5 hours on the listing, €17.29 per person, rated 4.8 from 1,480 reviews, the most reviewed quad tour on the island: see dates and prices for the quad tour to the lagoon. If you would rather ride an animal, take “Djerba: Blue Lagoon Adventure with Horse and Camel Rides”, 2.5 hours, €25.38, rated 4.8 from 265 reviews: see the horse and camel ride. If you are travelling with small children, read the last section first.
The same lagoon, four ways to get there
The Blue Lagoon and the beaches along it are the natural destination of most of these tours. The difference is how you travel and, above all, how the price is counted.

Three traps in the table
Per person against per vehicle. The quads at €17 are priced per person. The buggies at €58.90 and €62 and the half-day quad at €51 are priced per group of up to two. Two people on a buggy pay about €29 to €31 each, still more than the €17 quad. The price covers the vehicle for up to two, so a solo rider should check what applies. Work out the price per head before you compare.
Titles that do not match the duration. The quad tour titled “2-Hour” is listed at 1.5 hours; the “3-Hour” camel ride is listed at 2 hours, and its own description says “2-hour camel ride”. The listed duration is the booking slot, and it may include more than the ride itself. Ask the operator how long you are actually in the saddle or on the quad.
The lowest ratings are the buggies. The two buggy tours have 4.1 and 3.9, the lowest in the table. The descriptions are short (“Experience an adrenaline rush in a Buggy”), and that is little to base €59 on. A rating of 3.9 does not mean a bad time, but it means you should read the recent reviews.
Choosing between them
Quad. You drive yourself. The description of the most reviewed tour mentions the lagoon, traditional villages and a culinary experience; another mentions the beach and Berber houses and meeting locals in the countryside. Driving licence and age requirements are not stated in the descriptions we saw: check the booking page, and do not assume.
Horse. One description says the ride is “suitable for all levels”; another says trot and gallop with a qualified guide. Which you get depends on the tour, so check whether you want a walk or a gallop and say so when booking.
Camel. The slowest and the most relaxed way to get there. The Blue Lagoon and Seguia Beach is the camel route in the table. A combined horse-and-camel tour exists if you cannot decide.
Who it isn’t for
Quads and buggies mean dust, noise and bumps. The animal rides are slow, and the descriptions do not say anything about shade, helmets or water, so ask. With children: only the 30-minute camel ride says in its description that it is “perfect for children and families” (rated 4.8, but from only 15 reviews). For the other nine tours in the table, the minimum age is not stated, so check the booking page; and keep in mind that the riding category lists more than thirty tours, among them a beginner riding lesson for adults and children (no reviews yet), so there is room to look for a family-friendly operator.
Our recommendation
Take the quad tour at €17.29: it is the most reviewed of the ten (1,480 reviews) and one of the cheapest per head. Take the horse and camel combination if you want the same lagoon at a slower pace and are happy to pay about €8 more; it has the same 4.8 rating from a smaller number of reviews.
